Job Description



The Document Processing Specialist - Edgar is responsible for providing document processing support, with a speciality in EDGAR, to attorneys and clients while working in a team environment. Job Responsibilities include: Creating and revising complex legal documents, adhering to Firm guidelines; coordinating and communicating effectively and professionally with DP Supervisor-EDGAR and other Document Processing Supervisors regarding workflow and other issues; answering telephones and providing technical help when required; proofreading work for accuracy prior to submitting to proofreading or returning to lawyer; maintaining an accurate log of the amount of time spent working on each document; troubleshooting documents; working effectively within a team and as an independent operator, as workflow dictates; attending all mandatory training; learning and effectively applying new software as required; following all documented procedures; and performing other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements include: High School diploma required and 3+ years as an EDGAR document processing operator in a legal environment, or equivalent experience; typing speed of 65+; advanced proficiency of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator; knowledge of SnagIt, HTML, Desksite, Softwise, Adobe Acrobat and Lotus Notes; excellent proofreading, communication, grammar, writing and organizational skills; excellent interpersonal and customer service skills; ability to work well in a team environment; ability to work well under pressure and coordinate several activities at one time; understanding of SEC policies; available to work overtime when needed; capable of solving problems and meeting strict deadlines; ability to thrive in a demanding, deadline-driven environment.
